Klim Technical Riding Gear is the global leader in designing, developing and manufacturing the most advanced motor sports apparel for the snowmobile and motorcycle rider. Utilizing the world’s highest technologies in waterproof, breathable, durable and comfortable materials, Klim builds gear for the most demanding riders and distributes its products through nearly 800 dealers today.
Successfully setting up Klim’s 60,000 square foot distribution center in Rigby, ID to support multiple picking strategies, such as pick to pallet in conjunction with small order picking, posed a challenge. The company looked for a solution with intelligent picking derivatives and out-of-box warehouse functionality to increase efficiency and productivity. After implementing HighJump Warehouse Management System (WMS), Klim gained the processes needed to stay accurate and efficient without having any costly customizations.
“The HighJump WMS is definitely capable of handling all our different styles of picking. We do batch picking for smaller orders so we can optimize picker productivity by only having to go through the warehouse once to pick eight to twelve orders at a time,” said Bryan Payne, Warehouse Manager at Klim.
Integration was also a significant factor to selecting a new WMS. During the evaluation process, it was important that Klim had the support they needed from the WMS vendor, but that they did not have to use it often.
“The most important thing with any project from the IT side is the amount of support that we have to provide to the end users once we go live. The intergration between HighJump and NetSuite is virtually rock solid. The HighJump team of NetSuite experts have done an excellent job. It’s been really good,” stated Blake Summers, Director of IT at Klim.
Within its primary distribution center, Klim has 40,000 square feet allotted to fulfilling 60 percent of its revenue during two months of the year. The rest of the year the company is mostly shipping online B2C orders and refilling orders for its extensive dealer network. With functionality ten times more advanced than what is available in the marketplace, Klim is now able to pivot and meet changing process needs to profitably respond to multiple order types and volume fluctuation.
“HighJump is a company with a vision, has a plan for the future, and the new version of the software looks to be promising.” Summers expressed when asked why he would recommend HighJump and its supply chain execution software.
